The beer fermentation is a second main part of the beer production process. The beer fermentation takes place imediately after the wort brewing. Brewer´s yeast is added into cooled and aerated wort before start of the fermentation. Brewing yeasts are traditionally classed as “top-cropping” (or “top-fermenting”) and “bottom-cropping” (or “bottom-fermenting”). The beer fermentation process consists of two phases :

Primary fermentation of beer – The main fermentation of beer takes place in non-pressure vessels like the open fermentors or in the cylindrical fermenation tanks or in the cylindrically-conical tanks that are the most used fermentors in the most breweries. The primary beer fermentation takes usualy three up to twenty days according type of beer. For lagers the bottom yeast are used, for other types of beer types upper yeast.

Secondary fermentation of beer – The maturation of beer takes place in pressure fermentors under pressure from 0.8bar up to 3.0bar according to beer type. During the beer maturation process beer is naturally saturated with carbon dioxide. The secondary beer fermentation takes usualy two up to twenty weeks according type of beer.

The beer fermentation system includes the beer production tanks and all equipment needed for the beer fermentation process :

Tanks for the primary beer fermentation : Open fermentation vats, cylindrically-conical fermenters, cylindrical fermenters.
Tanks for the secondary beer fermentation : Pressure cylindrically-conical fermenters, pressure cylindrical fermenters, lager beer tanks.
Tanks for the conditioning of beer : Pressure tanks for the conditioning of beer. Bright beer tanks are used for the carbonization of beer, additional hopping, filtration of beer and for filling beer into bottles, kegs, cans.
Complete fermentation sets : The sets include tanks for both primary and secondary beer fermentation, cooling system, measurement and control system, hoses and valves.
Yeast processing system : Storage tanks for yeast, yeast regeneration tanks, yeast propagation stations
Components for beer production tanks : valves, tank spraying balls, sample valves, pressure valves, relief valves, fill level indicators, manometers, fittings and other armatures.
